01 / Background
Showing first-time viewers what we can do
The portfolio is for people meeting our team for the first time. At a trade show they only stop briefly, so they need to see quickly what kinds of work we do and spot a direction that fits their own promotional needs. The show called for a 16:9 horizontal format, with our key work grouped together and our corporate brand work included.
This version runs about four minutes fifty-five seconds, with clips from solar term and public communication films, city events, cultural programs, brand announcements and character animation. Real footage makes the first impression, while the full story of each project lives on its own project page. Every clip keeps the content and logos of the original work.
02 / Creative Highlights
Showing different approaches through real work
01
First, show viewers a range of communication briefs
It opens with the solar term short “Awakening of Insects” split into three columns playing side by side, followed by the conference opener for Cangqian, Hangzhou, the Chengdu Tianfu Twin Towers giant screen and festive IP animation. It's all AI imagery, yet a film made for phones, one played on a city's night-time giant screen and one built around a brand character are each composed differently, and everything viewers see is a real project they can recognize.
02
Vertical works and giant-screen events, all clearly visible in a horizontal frame
Vertical works sit side by side in the horizontal frame, keeping their subjects, scenery and original text. The Twin Towers clip puts the content and live footage of the towers in the same frame, so viewers can compare the details of the finished film and also see how the imagery actually looks once it's on the buildings.
03
Moving between real-life stories and cartoon characters
The Red Letters clip moves people with a child running to their parents and a family reunited; the cultural tourism clips make a place memorable through dance, local architecture and waterscapes; the plush characters, the miniature figures at the beer festival and the animated IP bring playful materials and performances. The approach always follows the content.
04
Beautiful visuals that keep the brand message intact
Later on, the Feishu announcement uses three columns to show the key visual and the wall of brand logos at once, and the Kuaishou earnings clip sends its IP character into city streets and data screens. The reel keeps these original layouts, so viewers see that the visuals look great and the message still comes through clearly.

First, Work Out Who's Watching and Where
The portfolio has been cut two ways.
In February 2026 we first made a roughly one-minute vertical quick-cut for WeChat Channels: we picked the most representative clips straight from finished films, put new work first and added no extra text.
In May, to show it at the Hong Kong Cultural Expo, we switched to a 3-to-5-minute 16:9 horizontal cut. Booth visitors watch standing up and may walk off at any moment, so the key projects had to be grouped at the front, with corporate brand work added back later in the reel.
The version on this page is the horizontal cut finalized in May: 4 minutes 55 seconds, 24 projects.
02
The First Minute Goes to the Most Recognizable Projects
The first minute or so runs through, in order: the NDRC solar term short “Awakening of Insects,” the Cangqian Subdistrict conference opener in Hangzhou, the Lantern Festival giant screen on Chengdu's Tianfu Twin Towers, Kuaishou's “Boonie Bears” Spring Festival magic show, the NDRC Spring Festival greeting, Kuaishou's 2026 CNY animated micro-drama and then Red Letters.
These projects have one thing in common: viewers have very likely come across them on their phones, on city giant screens or over the Spring Festival. Once people think “I've seen this,” they're ready to pay attention to what follows.
Our four projects with more than 100M views each — the NDRC Spring Festival greeting, the 14th Five-Year Plan Achievement Recap, CCTV's “Exploring China Through Idioms” and Kuaishou's 2026 CNY Spring Festival micro-drama — all appear in the first two minutes.
Clip · 00:00–00:07
Opening: “Awakening of Insects” in Three Columns
The portfolio's very first image is the armillary sphere, the drum and the bamboo shoots from the NDRC solar term short.
03
Vertical and Ultra-Wide, All in One Horizontal Frame
The finished films came in all shapes and sizes: the solar terms, Spring Festival greeting, Fire Safety Song, Masterpieces MV, Mid-Autumn greeting and Feishu announcement are 9:16 vertical; the Cangqian opener is 21:9 widescreen; the Twin Towers giant screen is a full 2900×2100 canvas.
Our solution was to lay out each one according to its original shape:
Vertical films are split into three side-by-side columns, each a complete vertical composition, with no subtitles cropped. The Twin Towers film puts the footage itself in the top half and the lit-up towers in the bottom half.Horizontal films play full screen.
Vertical films in three columns: the drum, the courtyard and the bamboo shoots from “Awakening of Insects”The Twin Towers film stacked: the footage on top, the towers at night below
These choices were refined version by version. In the early quick-cut, one vertical clip lost part of its subtitles to cropping; we later scaled the whole frame down and left a border so the subtitles stayed intact. When three columns play at once, only one audio track is kept so the sound doesn't clash.

04
Fast Changes of Subject, Every Clip Still Recognizable
With 24 projects in under five minutes, each gets just over ten seconds on average, usually one or two shots.
So each clip uses the project's most memorable image: in Red Letters, a child running to their father; in “Hanging the Gourd to Heal the World,” Fei Changfang riding green bamboo over a sea of clouds; in the military parade film, an eagle turning into an early-warning aircraft; at the beer festival, a tiny figure lying on wheat grains raising a glass; in the Fire Safety Song, the Kitchen God singing in headphones.
The marks on the original films are kept too: the NDRC logo, the CCTV channel logo and the Kuaishou Kling AI “Powered by” credit. When something catches their interest, viewers can follow these marks to the matching project page.
The order also follows an emotional arc: festive excitement first, then the emotion of Red Letters; the middle section moves through cultural tourism scenery and IP animation at an easy pace; and it ends on the conference, brand and earnings work.
Clip · 01:12–01:18
Red Letters: A Child Runs to Their Parents
After the lively Spring Festival segment, the pace slows down for a family reunion.
05
Ending on Brand and Commercial Work
The last thirty seconds go to the three most “commercial” projects: the opening ceremony MV for the Global Digital Economy Conference (shown on a 46×6 m screen at the venue), the Feishu partner announcement and Kuaishou's Q1 2025 earnings video.
These three segments show corporate clients that AI visuals don't just look good: they can carry partner lists, business data and brand characters, and get the message across the way the brand needs.

What This Portfolio Is For
For clients looking for someone to make their film, it's a way in: in five minutes they can see public-sector, cultural tourism, brand, IP animation, giant-screen and earnings projects, find the one closest to their needs, then open that project page to watch the full film and see how it was made.
Together, these projects have passed 400M views.
For students, it's also a reference for cutting a portfolio:work out who's watching and where; put the most recognizable work first; lay out different aspect ratios according to each original's shape, without cropping subtitles; and keep only the one or two most memorable shots from each project.
For exactly which part of each project we handled, see the description on each project page: for CCTV's “Exploring China Through Idioms” and the “Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf” 20th anniversary film, for example, we were responsible for the AI visuals.
FAQ
FAQ
What kinds of AI video has Liandan AI Studio made?
This portfolio includes public-sector promos (the NDRC solar terms, Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn greetings and the 14th Five-Year Plan Achievement Recap), city and cultural tourism films (Colors of Hongze, Haidian's “Shang Haidian”), giant-screen visuals (Chengdu Tianfu Twin Towers and the 46×6 m screen at the Global Digital Economy Conference), IP animation (Kuaishou CNY, Boonie Bears and the plush Pleasant Goat segment), AI MVs (Masterpieces Reimagined, Fire Safety Song), a brand announcement (Feishu) and an earnings video (Kuaishou).
Can vertical and ultra-wide films be delivered in different sizes?
Yes. The original films in the portfolio include 9:16 vertical, 21:9 widescreen, the full 2900×2100 twin-tower canvas and 16:9 horizontal; the Global Digital Economy Conference MV was delivered both as an ultra-wide version for the venue and as a standard 16:9 version. In the portfolio, vertical films sit in three columns and the Twin Towers film is stacked top and bottom, with no subtitles cropped.
Does Liandan AI Studio have projects with very large reach?
Four projects have passed 100M views: CCTV's “Exploring China Through Idioms” (200M+), the NDRC Spring Festival greeting, the 14th Five-Year Plan Achievement Recap and Kuaishou's 2026 CNY Spring Festival micro-drama, and all four are in this portfolio. The company's work has drawn more than 400M views in total.
Did Liandan AI Studio produce every project in the portfolio from start to finish?
Most of them. For some we provided visual support, such as CCTV's “Exploring China Through Idioms” and the “Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf” 20th anniversary film, where we were responsible for the AI visuals. For the exact division of work on each project, see the description on its project page.
Approach
How We Chose Shots and Arranged Aspect Ratios
Shot selection started from what the trade show needed to highlight. The first half of the horizontal reel uses public communication, city events and well-known IP so viewers recognize the work first; the second half adds brand and corporate films to show a range of subjects and visual styles.
Aspect ratios were handled so that every original stays easy to see. Whether text gets cropped and what to do when several clips play sound at once had to be adjusted one by one. The reel uses side-by-side vertical columns, top-and-bottom stacking and full horizontal frames for different works, keeping each original's composition and key information on the same screen.
The portfolio is for browsing at a glance; for the exact work we did on each project, see its project page. The reel includes cultural programs as well as co-productions and works where we supported specific segments; each project page has the full film, the creative brief and the specific deliverables.
