Spatial imagery of an ocean of data, voyaging and constant forward motion turns the iterative process of AI creators into a theme song and sci-fi MV.
01 / Background
“Infinite Iteration” started from the idea of a song “for fellow AI travelers,” writing parameter tuning, model training, attempt after attempt and personal growth into the lyrics. The challenge was making these technical words feel like something, both to the ear and to the eye: showing the state of constant exploration in creative work while leaving room for fatigue, confusion and perseverance.
The MV is set in a sci-fi space overall, but with so many technical terms and such long song sections, the visuals had to match the meaning of the lyrics and carry the emotion forward at the same time. Oceans of data, spaceships, tunnels and streams of traffic stand for forward exploration; people, starry skies and the sea leave pauses for fatigue and hope, so the song isn't drowned in nonstop high-speed tech shots.
02 / Creative Highlights
“Riding the waves of data” is matched with grids, oceans of particles and spaceships, so data is no longer just characters on a screen but a space you can travel through. The recurring voyage links algorithms and dream-making into one journey of unending exploration.
Speeding vehicles, glowing tunnels and cities drive the images forward, while starry skies, mountains and the sea open up the view. Alternating near and far gives the song's repeated sections variety and gives “forging ahead” a visible direction.
Warm-toned sailboats, people and shots of gazing up at the stars correspond to fatigue, confusion and hope. Cool-toned data imagery alternates with these passages, so “iteration” means both a technical process and a creator's growth through attempt after attempt.
A stairway in the clouds climbs upward, a robot throwing a series of punches stands for “moves,” and lightning in a circuit stands for “sparks of wisdom.” A bridge is built bit by bit from a glowing outline, standing for failures adding up to growth, so abstract words get actions and outcomes.

Completed the 3-minute-53-second, 16:9 landscape theme song MV “Infinite Iteration”: the song was generated with AI, more than 70 shots match the lyrics line by line, and it sings of Liandan AI Studio and AI creators trying again and again and always moving forward.

People who work in AI spend every day tuning parameters, running models and waiting for results.
Hardly anyone has ever written these things into a song.
In July 2024, we made one for ourselves: “Infinite Iteration,” dedicated to all our fellow AI travelers.
The song was generated with AI, the 3-minute-53-second MV was made entirely with AI imagery, and every line of lyrics is matched to a shot.

The name “Liandan” comes from industry slang: in Chinese, training an AI model is called “liandan,” refining an elixir like an alchemist, and people who build models call themselves “alchemists.”
Our founder proposed it: a song dedicated to fellow AI travelers.
The lyrics cover parameter tuning, algorithm updates, burning GPUs and vanishing gradients, as well as fatigue, confusion, and looking up at the stars when you're worn out.
People in AI get these words instantly. The hard part was making them clear to people who have never worked with AI—and that's where the visuals come in.

We chose electronic pop: a light, upbeat rhythm and synth melodies that sound techy and keep moving forward.
The song was generated with an AI music tool. We picked a few Chinese pop songs as references for rhythm and style, using only their first 60 seconds — referencing from the climax would have made the whole song too full right from the start.
We generated version after version, listened together and picked the one that sounded best.
When the AI sang it, the structure didn't fully match the original lyrics: the last section was dropped, and the chorus and bridge were each sung twice. Instead of going back and forcing the song to change, we re-sequenced the shots to match the song as it was actually sung.

The storyboard follows the lyrics line by line: each line gets one final still and one motion clip.
When a lyric names something concrete, we simply show it. “Captain of dreams” is a close-up in a cockpit; “Set sail” gets a real sailboat; “A burning GPU” is a graphics card bursting with sparks.
For lines with nothing concrete, like “Parameters tuned, algorithms updated,” tech imagery such as digital grids and tunnels of light holds the rhythm.
The hardest part was the technical terms. Our approach was to give each one an action:
For the line “Every failure builds a bridge to success,” we wanted viewers to see the bridge being built, not a ready-made bridge. We switched this shot to text-to-video and went through several rounds before getting the bridge to grow from a tiny dot into a complete structure.

After the first cut, the team went through it shot by shot, compiled the images that needed changes into a list, and checked each one off as it was fixed. The main changes were:
We added an opening shot. The original opening wasn't gripping enough, so we added a golden sun like a golden elixir, hanging in the middle of a cyber city.
Repeated images were replaced. Two of the GPU shots had originally been made from the same image and looked repetitive, so they were replaced with new images; shots that strayed too far from the lyrics were replaced as well.
The direction had to be forward. AI-generated cars and spaceships often travel backward, and flipping or reversing the clip never looked right, so we regenerated them until the images kept charging forward. The song is about “forging ahead,” so the direction couldn't be reversed.
Motion had to flow smoothly. Where some clips stuttered between cuts, we used curve-based speed ramping and frame dropping to connect the motion from one to the next.

The chorus was sung twice, and lines like “A burning GPU lights up the young face” and “Maybe at times you'll feel tired” also appear twice.
If the second pass used the same images, viewers would feel like they were watching a rerun. So we made two versions of the images for each repeated lyric: same meaning, new images.
Throughout the song, cool-toned data spaces alternate with the warm-toned sea and firelight. Over nearly four minutes, the colors and pacing keep changing.

For clients who want a brand theme song, a corporate anthem or an event MV, this film shows how we work: lock the song first, then lay out images line by line so viewers see each line as they hear it.
For students, the method can be used as is: show concrete words directly, find actions for abstract ones, and make two versions of repeated sections.
For us, this song sings the name “Liandan” out loud. Tuning, rendering, revising again and again — that's what we do every day.

Production on this film started in mid-July 2024. The full first cut took about a week, followed by more than a week of shot-by-shot revisions: adding the opening shot, replacing repeated images, and regenerating shots that moved in the wrong direction.
Yes. The process is the same as for this film: set the lyrics and musical style, generate the song with AI and pick the best version; then storyboard line by line, produce final stills and create the motion; finally, edit to the beat and add subtitles. For repeated sections of the song, we make two different sets of images.
Approach
The storyboard follows the song's sections: the verses use oceans of data, pilots and spaceships to establish the explorer's identity, the pre-chorus uses circuits, faces and fast tunnels to build the emotion, and the bridge uses bridges and a future city to show accumulation. Every line of lyrics has a matching image.
Shots were chosen on three criteria: how closely the image fits the lyric, the shot length, and whether material is repeated. Shots derived from the same GPU image were used only once, images too far from the lyric's meaning were dropped, and the images in the “fearless of the night, driving forward” passages always face forward. This brings viewers' attention back to the lyrics, and when the chorus returns, the images and rhythm change too.
Some shots were generated directly as video; others were made as stills first and then animated. Tunnels use fast fly-throughs, stairways move upward, and the bridge grows from a rough form to completion, so each type of motion carries a specific meaning. The final film alternates cool data spaces with warm seafaring scenes to sustain this long song.
