How a Brand Animation Is Seen Once It's in an Exhibition Hall
The entrance of the Kuaishou Party and Public Service Center has a large vertical screen. The client wanted Kuaishou's two IP characters, Xiaokuai and Xiaoliu, to greet visitors there: the screen idles quietly most of the time, and when someone approaches, the two characters come out of a halo to say hello. We delivered two 4K vertical animations; the video on this page is a demo made afterward, placing the welcome animation in a simulated red exhibition hall to show how it looks on the wall from a visitor's point of view.
In the demo, a visitor walks toward the screen from a distance: first the screen shows a breathing halo around the Kuaishou logo, then the halo opens, Xiaokuai and Xiaoliu appear one after the other, each says a line of introduction, they say welcome together, and finally fly back into the archway. With a person standing in front of the screen, you can see at a glance how big the screen is and whether the subtitles are readable.
02 / Creative Highlights
How the Screen Content Works With the Red Space
01
A Fixed Camera Makes Sizes Easy to Compare
The demo keeps the surrounding exhibition hall and the visitor in frame and shows the whole vertical screen at one shot size. The outer composition stays steady, and the characters' entrance, introductions and group shot all play out inside the screen, so viewers can keep judging the size of the characters, the position of the subtitles and the viewing distance on site.
02
Entrance, Introductions and Group Shot, Step by Step
Xiaokuai and Xiaoliu first appear one after the other in the halo, then each takes up a larger part of the screen, before coming back together as a pair. The entrance introduces the characters, the solo shots handle the introductions, and the group shot welcomes visitors together, so the narrow vertical screen shows things clearly in order.
03
A Yellow Star Prop Runs Through the Character Shots
Both characters hold yellow stars throughout: they cradle the stars at their chests during the introductions and fly away with them when they say goodbye. The yellow stars, the orange characters and the white-and-orange futuristic hall have clearly separate colors, so however narrow the vertical screen, the characters never blend into the background.
04
Standby Glow and Welcome Animation, Each With Its Own Job
Most of the time the screen shows a breathing light effect, and when someone arrives it plays the full character welcome animation. One handles the waiting, the other the welcome; the demo shows this design through the visitor walking toward the screen.

A Standby Halo, Then the Two Characters Appear
As the visitor walks toward the screen, it still shows the standby image: the Kuaishou logo inside a halo that brightens and dims. Once the halo opens, Xiaokuai comes out first, with Xiaoliu following close behind.
Clip · 00:00–00:04
A Breathing Halo Around the Kuaishou Logo
This is how the screen usually looks: a ring of light in a starry sky slowly grows and shrinks, with the Kuaishou logo in the middle. When no one is around, it loops like this continuously.
Clip · 00:05–00:08
The Halo Opens and Xiaokuai Arrives First
The logo fades, the halo becomes a passage, and Xiaokuai flies out of it and stops on the right, as the subtitles read “New friend detected” and “I'm Xiaokuai.”
Clip · 00:08–00:11
Xiaoliu Follows and They Say Welcome Together
Xiaokuai waves its star in place as Xiaoliu grows from small to large out of the halo and flies to the left; one on each side, they say “Wow, welcome!”
Film · 00:11–00:20
One Line of Introduction Each
The scene cuts into a white-and-orange futuristic hall, where the two characters take turns filling the vertical screen, each saying one line about what the service center offers.

Xiaokuai: Party-Building Exhibits With an Internet Flavor
Holding a yellow star, Xiaokuai stands on a display platform, raises a hand to say hello and explains that this is home to Party-building exhibits with an internet flavor.
Clip · 00:15–00:20
Xiaoliu: Creativity Full of Wild Ideas
Next comes a close shot of Xiaoliu, raising its star and waving as it explains that there are also lots of creative activities here. The subtitles sit in the lower middle of the frame, readable even from a distance.
Film · 00:20–00:28
Welcome Together, Then Fly Back Into the Archway
The two characters return to the same frame and only turn to leave after finishing their welcome; the screen is left with an empty archway, waiting for the next visitor.
Clip · 00:20–00:26
Welcome to the Kuaishou Party and Public Service Center
Xiaokuai and Xiaoliu stand on either side of the archway, holding their stars, and say together: “Welcome to the Kuaishou Party and Public Service Center. Come feel a different kind of warmth and energy with us.”
Clip · 00:26–00:28
A Swish of Capes and Into the Archway
After the last line, the two characters' capes flare and they fly deep into the archway, growing smaller and smaller, until the frame rests on the empty archway.

Two 4K Vertical Animations and a Demo
Delivered two 4K vertical (2160 × 3840) animations: a standby loop of about 9.5 seconds and a welcome animation of about 26 seconds (with three ending versions), for the vertical screen at the entrance of the Kuaishou Party and Public Service Center. We also made an exhibition hall demo of about 29 seconds, which is the video playing on this page.

01
One Screen, Two States
The client's script was very clear: there's a big screen inside the entrance showing a standby image most of the time; when someone comes close, a portal opens on screen and Xiaokuai and Xiaoliu come out.
The first thing we thought about was how it would be used on site. For most of the day no one is watching the screen, so it's more like a phone's lock screen than a film's opening titles.
So the standby is a loop of about 9.5 seconds: the Kuaishou logo sits inside a halo that slowly shrinks and then slowly grows again, with the start and end matching so it can play on and on.
The welcome animation begins at the moment the halo opens. Whichever second the standby loop is on, switching over never feels abrupt.

02
Xiaokuai First, Then Xiaoliu: The Order Has to Hold
The client wanted the two characters to come out one at a time, each matching its line: first “I'm Xiaokuai,” then “I'm Xiaoliu.”
Having both characters appear at once isn't hard; the hard part is keeping the first character standing steady and undistorted while the second one makes its entrance.
We split those few seconds into three segments, each with fixed start and end frames: in the first, Xiaokuai flies in from a distance to the right; in the second, Xiaokuai holds still while Xiaoliu grows from small to large out of the halo; in the third, the two wave their stars together.
All three segments share the same starry background, with the halo always dead center, so the joins are invisible. The client wanted a steady, composed look, so we didn't use any of the versions with lens flares or strobe flashes.

One Line Each, and Only Then Leave
After the entrance, the scene cuts into a white-and-orange futuristic hall. The two characters take turns filling the vertical screen, each saying one line about what the service center offers.
Xiaokuai introduces the Party-building exhibits with an internet flavor, and Xiaoliu introduces the creative activities full of wild ideas. The two characters have different children's voices, and the subtitles sit in the lower middle of the frame.
Finally the two return to the archway and say together, “Welcome to the Kuaishou Party and Public Service Center.” The client made a point of asking that the characters leave only after the line is finished. We placed the takeoff after the very last word: with a swish of their capes, the two fly back deep into the archway.
After the welcome, the two fly back into the archway
04
Before It Went Up on the Big Screen
The entrance screen is much bigger than a phone, and visitors stand close to it, so the images have to hold up to close viewing. The final films were all upscaled to 4K vertical (2160 × 3840), and every version was checked for black borders at the edges before delivery.
The welcome animation's ending comes in three versions, with the characters flying off at different moments, so the venue can pick the one that fits its playback rhythm.
Afterward we also made a demo: the welcome animation placed in a simulated red exhibition hall, with a fixed camera and a visitor walking toward the screen. You can see at a glance how big the screen is and whether the subtitles are readable.

What this project achieved
A screen in an exhibition hall isn't like a short video on a phone. It's on all day, no one is watching most of the time, and when someone does come, it has only a few dozen seconds.
This project splits one screen into two states: quietly waiting when no one is there, and warmly saying hello when someone arrives. The two IP characters enter in order and leave only after they've spoken, and their look stays consistent with the official character designs.
For clients who need IP welcome content at exhibition halls, service centers or store entrances, this approach can be used as is: first work out how the screen will be viewed, then decide how the images should move.
FAQ
FAQ
What should an exhibition hall's welcome screen show when no one is around?
In this project, a standby loop of about 9.5 seconds plays most of the time: the Kuaishou logo sits inside a halo that slowly shrinks and grows again, with the start and end matching so it can loop indefinitely. When someone approaches, it switches to the welcome animation of about 26 seconds, which begins with the halo opening, so switching over from any second of the standby loop never feels abrupt.
How do you keep IP characters in an AI animation consistent with the brand's official look?
We work from the IP key visuals and character model files supplied by the client, first making approved key frames of the characters, then generating the animation from those key frames. Xiaokuai and Xiaoliu's entrance was split into three segments, each with fixed start and end frames and the same background, so the characters don't drift off-model as they move.
How long does an exhibition hall welcome animation like this take from brief to delivery?
For this project we received the character materials on June 19 and delivered the 4K films on June 30: 12 days in total. Along the way, we adjusted the characters' entrance order, lines and exit timing based on the client's feedback.
Can you make versions for large vertical screens at high resolution?
Yes. This project delivered 9:16 vertical 4K films at 2160 × 3840, with every version's edges checked before delivery; the welcome animation also came with three ending versions, so the venue can choose based on its playback rhythm.
Approach
Building the Demo Around the Visitor's Point of View
The demo uses a fixed view of the exhibition hall, so however the screen content changes, it can be compared against the same space. As required, it keeps one shot size throughout and plays the welcome animation in full when someone arrives, so the focus is on the relationship between the vertical screen content and the visitor.
The welcome content runs in the order of character entrances, individual introductions and a joint welcome. The character designs follow the base specs of Kuaishou's brand characters; in the animation, the halo always stays centered and the background stays continuous, as the two characters step into the same frame one after the other. The demo ends by moving from solo shots to the pair together.
In the storyboard, the character close-ups, pair shots and exit shots were composited separately, then each segment was given its actions: saying hello, waving the star props and flying off into the distance. The introductions play through in full before the exit begins, keeping the welcome and the ending at the same pace.
