Choosing between the two versions
The two versions serve different purposes:
- AI automated version: a quick look at direction, useful while you're still comparing styles
- Hand-refined version: good enough for internal discussion and pitches
What a sample settles
Many things are hard to judge from words alone: whether the look is realistic or cartoon, what a character looks like, how accurate the product is. Seeing a short sample aligns both sides on what “good” means and reduces rework in full production.
When difficulty is uncertain, we also test the hardest one or two shots internally before setting the tier and quoting.
Samples on real projects
For the Liaocheng tourism film, we delivered a storyboard script and a 19-second sample in about a week and refined the shots once direction was confirmed; the Cangqian Subdistrict opener began with a 15-second test to set the look; and for the Baidu × China.com military parade film, we reviewed five sample versions with the client and media to narrow the direction step by step.
For the Shanghai Double Five Shopping Festival Digital Life Week film, we made a sample of the first dozen or so seconds the night the event plan arrived, then revised shot by shot from feedback.
Samples for pitches and project approval
For a pitch, internal approval, fundraising or an AI film competition, nothing persuades like a watchable film. Our own Mid-Autumn: The Mooncake Workshop is a concept demo made to show brands and partners what a mooncake story can look like.
