15–30 second cuts
7 days before the date
Greetings, animated posters and single verticals—about a week once style and materials are set.
The usual problem with holiday films isn’t quality—it’s time: by the time someone thinks of it, launch is a week away. This calendar lays out every 2027 date by month, from Chinese New Year, the Two Sessions and 618 to National Day, Double 11 and the 24 solar terms, with when to go live and the last day to order.
Order-by dates are counted back from our real turnaround: 7 days for a 15–30 second cut, 3 weeks for a 1–2 minute film, 8 weeks for series, micro-dramas and screens, with the CNY break excluded. Each card shows how many days are left, and the solutions and cases underneath show how it’s done.
Each date gets three deadlines—short cuts, main films, and series or screens—counted back from go-live.
7 days before the date
Greetings, animated posters and single verticals—about a week once style and materials are set.
21 days before go-live
About a week to first cut, another to final, plus a few days for approval and scheduling.
8 weeks before go-live
Multi-episode, multi-version or venue-screen projects—listed for major dates.
“Go live by” comes before the holiday itself: festive films need a few days’ head start, e-commerce counts from pre-sale, and civic and travel campaigns go out a week early.
The CNY break (February 5–11, 2027, New Year’s Eve to Day Six) isn’t counted as working time. Two Sessions, 618 and Double 11 follow past years; 2027 dates follow official and platform announcements.
Dates assume complete materials and on-time approvals. If you’re close to the deadline, ask anyway—shorter cuts can often still be fitted in. Rush production is available; timeline and price are agreed case by case.
Sorted by month and filterable by client type. Every solution and case links through.
Year-in-review, greetings and countdowns—reviews go out in late December.
E-commerce New Year goods sales usually start around early January and can share CNY visuals.
The start of the CNY season—many brands begin warming up here.

Falls on lunar Day Nine in 2027, inside the CNY break—plan it with CNY and deliver before the holiday.
Lantern shows, night tours and greetings—the last wave of the CNY season.
Usually open around March 4–5; 2027 dates follow official announcements. Lock templates before CNY and update the day the report is out.
Staff tributes, women’s profiles and brand films.
Greening and ecology messages for parks departments, environment agencies and schools.
Rights education for market regulators; quality and after-sales promises for brands.
Civil tomb-sweeping messages go out a week ahead; brands talk spring tea and outings.
Security education for schools and communities, as short dramas.
Reading campaigns for libraries, bookstores and publishers—classic paintings and books can come alive.
Space science animation, popular with science museums and schools.
Honor frontline workers and warm up holiday travel and mall events; May Fourth Youth Day is three days later and can be done together.
Second Sunday of May. One style for both Mother’s and Father’s Day saves effort.
Drill and evacuation explainers for emergency agencies; tributes to nurses for hospitals.
A confession day for young people—great for runs of 15-second shorts.
Kids’ drawings animated and dream careers—tell schools early to collect drawings.
Environmental campaigns for agencies; green and ESG content for companies.
Boats, zongzi and customs—it overlaps 618, so food brands should plan early.
Usually opens mid-May (8 pm on May 12 in 2026); every asset must be live before launch.
Third Sunday of June—can be ordered together with Mother’s Day.
Graduation-ceremony screens, campus memory films and graduation MVs.
The Party’s 106th anniversary and the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return. Lock screens for award meetings and Party Days early.
2027 is the PLA’s 100th anniversary, so commemorations and defense education will be larger than usual.
Same day as the Beginning of Autumn—a good moment to retell the Cowherd and Weaver Girl.
Doctor tributes for hospitals and health commissions, made from doctors’ photos with consent.
First lessons, new-student guides and fall enrollment—finished during summer break.
Nine days after school starts—order together with back-to-school films.
Gift-box films must be live by early September and greetings on the day; just 16 days before National Day, so plan both together.
Usually mid-to-late September—science animation for museums, associations and schools.
Held on the Autumn Equinox—for agriculture departments and farm-produce brands.
Achievements, people’s stories and Golden Week travel teasers; book city and landmark screen projects early.
Right after the National Day holiday—finish before the break.
The start of peak season for overseas brands; also good for games and toys.
November 9—fire safety campaigns and education.
Pre-sale usually begins mid-October (Tmall: 8 pm on October 15 in 2026); full asset sets must be set in August.
Thanksgiving is November 25, Black Friday the 26th, Cyber Monday the 29th—the big sale for overseas sites and Amazon.
Legal education—short dramas beat reading out articles.
The last e-commerce sale of the year—reuse the Double 11 visuals.
Annual report cards, meeting openers and award visuals peak from late December to mid-January.
Christmas ads for overseas brands and festive events for malls and districts.
Countdowns and landmark screens; book screen projects by early November.
Chinese New Year 2028 is January 26, eleven days earlier than 2027; Laba is January 4, so the season starts in early November 2027.
For a single term’s poster or short, order 7 days before; for all 24, sign a month before the Beginning of Spring and receive each term two weeks ahead.
